Come in to fill up a growler and shop our specialty food shop with cured and house roasted meats, cheese, olive oils from around the world, creative ice creams and other fun edibles, or stay for a pint from one of our 16 rotating taps and one of our specialty sandwiches or salads.
Alicia Mekelburg – Owner – Growing up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, with the likes of Zabar’s, Barney Greengrass and H&H Bagels at her doorstep, great neighborhood food establishments were ingrained in her every day life – Mekelburg’s is her bringing this tradition to her now neighborhood of Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, only better because, well, beer. She and her husband Daniel also pioneered the NY underground supper club movement with NY Bite Club. For the past decade they displayed their unique and delicious tasting menus, of which they will continue to showcase at Mekelburg’s during special tasting events, but their amazing porchetta will be available daily!
Daniel Mekelburg – Owner – A third generation New Yorker who wooed Alicia with his truffled grilled cheese on Sullivan St Bakery bread, frisee salad with champagne vinaigrette and blueberry gelato, it was love at first bite. A self-taught cook, Daniel has been catering and underground cooking with Alicia for years, he’s also competed in Memphis in May where he discovered the Big Green Egg, of which you’ll find 2 at Mekelburg’s! By day he imports novelty closeouts, by night you’ll find him behind the bar, making you a sandwich and talking your ear off, but in a good way!
