Daniel Mekelburg

A third-generation New Yorker who wooed Alicia with his truffled grilled cheese on Sullivan St Bakery bread, frisee salad with champagne vinaigrette, and blueberry gelato, it was love at first bite. A self-taught cook, Daniel has been catering and underground cooking with Alicia for years, he’s also competed in Memphis in May where he discovered the Big Green Egg, of which you’ll find 2 at Mekelburg’s! By day he imports novelty closeouts, by night you’ll find him behind the bar, making you a sandwich and talking your ear off, but in a good way!
